The Caves Messias 30 Years Tawny Port appears a tawny color with greenish hints in the glass. Good aromatic intensity, predominating hints of wood mixted with spice aroma, like nutmeg and pepper. In the mouth is very well balanced and persistent.
The NV 30 Years Tawny Port was bottled with 123 grams per liter of residual sugar and a bar-top cork. This is laced with a little brandy, but the overlay is mostly dried caramel. It is round and rather harmonious but still able to tighten on the finish after seeming a bit flat on opening. It does have a lively feel to it as it finishes, to go with its broad flavors. It is not the most focused 30-year Porto, but it coats the palate nicely. As always, these last indefinitely, barring cork failures. They are not really meant to be held, but they can be.
