Of a pale litchi pink color, its pristine nose offers fleshy pomelo entwined with strawberry and redcurrant jelly, some blossomy notes of peony. Dry and crispy its elevated juicy acidity combined with a light, satin- like texture gives a digest feeling supported by a nice bitter crunch on the finish. The fruit is fresh, evoking cranberries, raspberries, and especially pink grapefruit with a nice zesty, spicy twist.
40% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 20% Syrah, 10% Tibouren
After total destemming, the grapes are cooled and pressed gently as soon as they arrive at the cellar. These techniques allow an optimal extraction of aromas to obtain a fine and elegant wine. The first juices (free run juice) are separated from press juices. Fermentation at controlled temperature,
Château de Pampelonne produces both red and white wine, but it is the Côtes de Provence Rosé for which the estate is best known. In addition to the classic rosé cépages of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre, Pampelonne also uses Tibouren in the blend. This ancient Greek variety, while challenging to work with and quite unique to this area of France, is valued for the aromatic intensity it lends to rosés.
