Delectable, fruity nose underscored with aromas of red fruits and notes of nutmeg spice. Generous and aromatic on the palate, with supple, mellow tannins. Notes of red fruit and spice offer depth and lively acidity. Expressive, generous and enjoyable right now, this is a perfect wine to enjoy with a slight chill.

Chateau de la Chaize Description

100% Gamay aged for 9 months, 50% in concrete vats, 50% in large oak foudres.

A blend of select vineyard sites owned by Chaize, situated around the historic Château, this flagship cuvée stands as the epitome of the estate’s excellence. Each parcel undergoes individual vinification, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and preserving its unique qualities. Representing the essence of the Brouilly Cru du Beaujolais, renowned for its deep granite soil ideal for Gamay grapes, this wine captivates with a harmonious blend of complexity and fruity aromas, embodying the essence of its terroir with unparalleled finesse.

Château de La Chaize is a crown jewel of Beaujolais and classified as a French national heritage site due to its magnificent garden designed by André Le Nôtre, renowned landscape architect to King Louis XIV of France. All wines are made exclusively from estate vineyards and are proudly certified organic, starting with the 2022 Brouilly wines and Fleurie from 2023.

James Suckling: 93 Points

This barely medium-bodied Brouilly is all about elegance and precision. Generous redcurrant and wild-blackberry fruit but not the slightest bit loud. Also wildflower aromas. The gentle tannins build very nicely in the surprisingly long, velvety finish. From organically grown grapes. A cuvee of wines from two parcels at the bottom of the slope. Matured for nine months in large oak vats.
