Presents a brilliant ruby hue and opens with aromas of wild red and black berries, layered with hints of crushed violets, forest floor, and a touch of warm spice. The palate is bright yet well-structured, offering an exciting acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a mineral-driven core. The wine evolves as it opens up, revealing delicate nuances of black tea, dried herbs, and a gentle smoky undertone. 

Made from a blend of different Mercurey terroirs totaling 7 hectares, the wine is a good introduction to the straightforward, rustic charm of the appellation. The diversity of the domaine’s terroirs allows Meix Foulot to produce a consistent, harmonious wine year in, year out. The grapes are fully destemmed, vinified with native yeast over 2-3 weeks, with malos completing by May or June. 40% of the wine is aged in cuve and 60% in barrels (aged from 2-5 years). The wine is bottled 16-18 months after harvest.

Notably ripe yet still fresh aromas include those of plum, earth and a suggestion of menthol. The succulent, round and nicely intense medium weight flavors exhibit good if not special depth and persistence on the youthfully austere finale where a touch of acid tang appears. Drink: 2026+
