Rosé d'Anjou is a round and fruity wine, ideal all day long. It is a medium dry wine which can be served with exotic and spicy dishes. The vineyards grow on the hillsides of rivers flowing from the Loire and particularly the Layon. Vinified in the traditional rosé method. The grapes are crushed after a slight maceration, giving a pink color. Fermentation is not allowed to complete, in order to give the wine its subtle sweetness.
This family owned estate has produced top wines within the Loire Valley for generations. The vineyard is situated on the hillside of carboniferous schist which dominates the Layon region. Produced with the local Grolleau Noir grape. This elegant Rosé has great fruit flavors with a nice balanced acidity.
95% Grolleau, 5% Cabernet Franc
All Rose wines are made in the same manner: the grapes are pressed after a light fermentation to maximise the intense rose color. The fermentation is not fully completed in order to keep the roundness of the wine and the essential lightness and freshness is achieved at the same time.
