Deep red in color with purple highlights. On the nose, vibrant and sophisticated aromas reveal a balanced combination of wild berry fruit, fresh woodland hints and a touch of spices. The palate is notable fine and balanced and it´s marked by firm yet perfectly polished tannins, which provide a rich and velvety texture. The finish is long and distinctive. This is a wine of great character that faithfully reflects the essence of the Douro Superior.

This wine takes its name from the location of the vineyard from which the grapes come: Douro Superior (Upper Douro). The grapes used to make this wine come from our property Quinta da Cabreira where we have 114 hectares of recently planted vines.

The grapes, coming from our property Quinta da Cabreira in the Douro Superior sub-region, are taken to the winery in plastic boxes and rigorously inspected on a sorting table on arrival. The grapes are then completely destemmed and slightly crushed. After this, the must is transferred to temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Aged in French oak barrels for about 12 months.

The wood aging has smoothed the tannins in this young wine. It gives a ripe, balanced wine, juicy with red berry flavors and a licorice aroma. Drink from 2027. Editors' Choice -R.V.
