The Richard Hamilton Little Road Shiraz appears a full red with deep crimson highlights in the glass. The fruit on the nose shows satsuma plum aromas with hints of black pepper, with a light cedar note from oak maturation. Medium to full bodied on the palate with textural tannins providing persistence and rounding-out the palate. A flavorsome wine that retains elegance and style in which the fruit plays the dominant role.
Enjoy with full flavored meals, such as tender beef, or rich vegetarian dishes. Perfect with pasta.
100% Shiraz from vines rangin from 19-53 years old. Aged 13 months in predominantly French oak with some American Oak. 20% New French oak, 10% new American oak, balance 2-6 year old barrels.
The focus in producing this wine is to have vibrancy of fruit on the nose and palate with a tight structure and attractive mouth filling roundness. The fruit was all grown on our Estate between the McLaren Vale and Willunga townships. Following fermentation on skins, the components were pressed before dryness and allowed some oak fermentation. On the completion of malo-lactic fermentation, the wine was 're-worked' and returned to oak for further maturation.
The 2020 Little Road Shiraz is ductile and sweet, with little valleys and creeks of flavor and spice that burble through the palate. This shows tremendous vitality and energy, and while it isn't overly complex, it certainly brings joy. Anticipated Maturity: 2022-2028
