The Ruca Malen Capitulo Dos Petit Verdot appears an intense violet color with an almost black hue in the glass. On the nose, the varietal typicity is evident, with aromas of black and red fruits combined with herbal notes that provide freshness and complexity. Full bodied on the palate with good volume, a complex wine that`s intense with firm tannins and a long finish. 

Hailing from Argentina’s premier wine region and home to over half the country’s cultivated vines, Ruca Malen embodies the rich history, spirit, and pedigree of Mendoza winemaking.

Ruca Malen believes that the wines are made in the vineyards; they devote themselves to understanding the terroir. The profound knowledge of the diverse microterroirs along the Andes Mountain Range is evident in every sip. Ruca Malen’s vineyard holdings span the Uco Valley, Tupungato, and Lujan de Cuyo, with the vast majority in the Uco Valley.  Planted in 1996 along the base of the Andes in sandy loam, rocky, porous soil, at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level, the unique microclimate can be characterized as Mediterranean, where warm sunny days are balanced by cool breezy nights that allow the grapes to mature steadily.

Deeper in the collection, Capítulo Dos encourages individuality and experimentation with new varietals. This range begins to show distinct focus on the versatility, energy, and expression of each varietal. 

100% Petit Verdot. The grapes are manualy harvested in March A cold maceration happens for the first days, and then alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks. During the process, gentle extraction movements are carried out, to obtain more texture, elegance and balance. Aged 12 months in French Oak

The vintage was quite noticeable in the only wine that was not from 2021: the 2020 Capítulo 2 Petit Verdot. It was produced with fruit from Los Chacayes and is riper and darker, reflecting a warmer and riper vintage. It has higher alcohol, 14.4%, plenty of black ripe fruit and an herbal touch, with a full-bodied palate with concentration and tannins but with balance. It needs powerful food.
