Deep ruby red color with garnet reflections. Versatile and young, this wine has refreshing acidity and soft tannins. On the nose, aromas of red fruit, blackberry, plum, with hints of licorice. On the palate, black and white pepper is balanced with soft fruit, velvety tannins, and a taut structure leading to a juicy, savory finish.
Fermentation takes place in steel tanks for about 10-15 days at a controlled temperature. Wine is aged partically in large Slavonian oak casks for 6-8 months and partcially in stainless steel tanks for three months, then compbined and bottle aged for a few months.
Driven by a passion for exceptional Nebbiolo, the Travaglini family has been producing remarkable, limited-production wines from their eponymous estate in Gattinara for four generations, with the fifth now on their way, learning from their parents. The Travaglini family has owned land in Gattinara since the beginning of the 19th century. They farmed a few hectares of land and produced wine for local consumption. It was not until 1958 however, when the third generation, Giancarlo, established the eponymous Travaglini Estate Winery. It was Giancarlo who recognized a greater potential in Gattinara and executed groundbreaking changes in his vineyards and cellar, unseen before in the appellation. His passion for Nebbiolo helped raise the profile of Gattinara, a commitment that has been carried on through the generations.
Fresh bright strawberries, violets and licorice depth. The attack is balanced, with supple fruit, a peppery character, a tight structure and a medium to full body. A good, juicy, savory finish with velvety tannins. Best from 2025.
Super pretty nose presenting light lifted red fruits that are warmed and crushed. The palate shows excellent construction with fine-grained tannins framing a core of red fruits. Supporting notes of herbs and earth add complexity while floral elements enhance the aromatic profile. The finish is mouthwatering with bright acidity. -J.P.
