Founded in 1980 by Lucio Gomiero, Vignalta is now one of the most interesting estates of the Euganean Hills (Colli Euganei). With grapes grown on about 50 hectares of vineyards, Vignalta produces 250,000 bottles annually. The Euganean Hills, with their volcanic soils, are particularly rich in minerals and have a mild climate, which allow for extraordinary grapes. Since 1994, Vignalta has vinified the grapes grown in its own vineyards in the modern cellar at Arqua` Petrarca. The cellar is completely carved into the rock, and is ideal for aging wine in oak barrels at constant temperature and humidity.
