Fresh and fruity. Traditionally it is drunk before meals; many gastronomes find that its smoothness is a perfect complement to 'foie gras' and its sweet ness brings out the aromas of certain fruits (melon, strawberries). Its fruity style brings a pleasant freshness to a plate of oysters.
The Pineau des Charentes i obtained by blending in oak casks approximately three quarters of volume of grape juice and one quarter of aged cognac.
