Tequila Ocho Single Estate Puntas Mirandillas Overproof (750ml)

Opens very floral with notes of rose water, eucalyptus and honey with intense cooked agave.  On the palate one senses cooked agave, orange peel, grapefruit juice, rosemary and light anise.

Named after the small town it resides in, Rancho Mirandillas sits at 5,200 feet above sea level, making it the lowest altitude field ever used for Tequila Ocho production. Mirandillas is fully exposed to sunlight, and its terroir is flat with small stones and a deep gray clay soil. As this area is mainly used for growing corn and sorghum, it was the first time in more than 50 years the field was used for agave.

Tequila Ocho sources its agaves from "single estates" - single parcels of land with unique microclimates. Access to multiple estates at varying altitudes allows Ocho to showcase different nose and favor characteristics through each vintage. The brand represents the unveiling of "terroir" as a genuine product concept in tequila and confirms that it exists as much in agave as it does in grapes. This concept is centuries old in wine, but has not been seriously explored in spirits. Whereas most spirits focus their distillation on delivering "consistency of character", Ocho is original in its delivery of "complexity of character" through each vintage.
