Apothic Inferno is a robust, velvety smooth blend with well-integrated tannins. Inferno leads with notes of dried blackberries, dark plum and cherry on the plush palate. Crafted primarily from Zinfandel and Merlot, the full blend was aged for more than two months in whiskey barrels to add dimensions of toffee, maple, spice and a hint of aromatic charred oak. A long, lingering finish gives this Inferno a gentle touch. Enjoy with pizza or barbequed meats.
We sourced fruit for our bold Inferno blend primarily from California, mainly from Lodi, where we allowed grapes to hang on the vine and develop dark, full-bodied characteristics. A small portion of the blend was grown in Washington’s Horse Heaven Hills, Yakima Valley and Columbia Valley regions.
29% Zinfandel, 28% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petite Sirah, 6% Syrah, 7% Mixed Varieties
Grapes for Apothic Inferno were harvested, then the mostly whole-cluster fruit fermented for an average of four to six days in a combination of cone-sweep and upright tanks. The wine is then oak aged for three to six months, then aged an additional 60+ days in whiskey barrels, giving Apothic Inferno its unique flavor profile.
