Jeff Carrel has been making wine for over 30 years and is widely recognized as an advocate for organic farming in the Cévennes region of France. He works closely with local growers, helping them convert to organic practices by committing to buy their fruit as long as they maintain certification. Thanks to this support, organic fruit in the region has grown from about 10–15% a decade ago to more than 40% today. Maison Carrel produces simple, distinctive wines that reflect both technical expertise and a strong sense of place. The winery is based in a historic 1857 building, updated with water-saving systems and natural insulation to balance heritage with sustainability.
