The nose is a wine where strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, blackberry and licorice notes are subtly assembled with notes of vanilla and spices.  This dark-violet-colored wine has a bouquet of black currant, purple plum and juniper berry. Flavors of ripe cherry, raspberry, eucalyptus, clove, cocoa powder and lavender are wrapped in a shroud of muscular tannins that power into a lengthy finish.

The selection of vineyards from Rioja Alta and Rioja del Reyno combines the best of both areas, achieving a balanced wine with maturity, concentration and freshness. Rioja Alta, with its cool climate and altitude, allows the grapes to ripen slowly, while Rioja del Reyno provides greater concentration of flavor. The blend of different soils, such as clay-ferrous and calcareous, results in a wine of great body and character. The aim is to create an emblematic wine, with depth, elegance and great ageing potential, reflecting the best of each terroir.

For the elaboration of this wine, we chose the harvest dates according to the optimum ripening point of each variety and its location in the appellation. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks, 18 days of maceration and 4 daily manual pumping-overs. Malolactic fermentation in concrete with a short time in oak barrels.

Cherry red in the glass, this wine has aromas of raspberry, red plum and black currant. In the mouth, ripe fruit flavors show a touch of lifted mint and eucalyptus. The wine is well balanced, with polished tannins and an enduring finish. -M.D.
