Enjoy on its own or with an array of appetizers, soft cheeses, grilled fish and seasonal salads.
Bodegas Portia is Grupo Faustino’s most recent winery project and is the 7th winery in the group. Located in the heart of Ribera del Duero, the Portia winery is a display of modern design, winemaking function and artistic detail. The brand offers very small production wines - intense, energetic & balanced.
Portia Verdejo Rueda wine expresses the identity of Rueda's unique landscape and gastronomic expression of the Verdejo grape variety. Rueda D.O. is characterized by its altitude, between 700 and 800 meters, with a continental climate, marked by long and harsh winters, short springs and very hot and dry summers.
Once in the winery, the grapes are cold macerated for a few hours before being pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature to maintain all the characteristics of the best Verdejo white wine.
The 2023 Verdejo Sobre Lías Portia displays a Sauvignon-like character, with notes of rue and asparagus over a background of white apple. Aromatically intense, it is slightly tighter on the palate yet still offers fruit flavors and the typical freshness of Verdejo.
Typical verdejo notes of dill, fennel, white almonds and green apples. Fresh and tangy on the palate, with crisp stone fruit and a supple texture at the end. Subtle bitter almonds in the finish.
