The Capezzana Villa di Capezzana appears a bright, intense ruby color in the glass. The nose reveals wild berries, violets, elegant and ample followed by a palate that is elegant with balanced acid. The long finish has an aftertaste of sweet liquorice and coffee.
Enjoy with red and white meat as well as most types of cheese.
80% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 70% in tonneau for 12 months, 30% in big barrels for 16 months. Aged in bottle for at least 12 months.
With vintages dating back to 1925 in their cellar, Villa di Capezzana is the flagship wine of the Tenuta di Capezzana estate and representative of Carmignano's greatest quality. Created as one of the very first protected wine-producing regions in Italy, the history of Carmignano dates back to 1716 when Cosimo III de' Medici granted the area special legal protections which prohibited other regions from using the name "Carmignano" for their wines.
A solid, focused and compact red. Red berries, warm herbs, earth, mushrooms and baking spices dominate on the nose, following through to a full body with fine, slightly chewy tannins. Concentrated and dense, with a solid frame of tannins for the fruit and spices on the long, funneled finish. From organically grown grapes. Try after 2026.
