The 2014 vintage can be summed up as follows: vivid colour, a tannic structure that is firm yet subtle and red-fruit aromas. A supple yet powerful wine reminiscent of a blend similar to that of the Grand Vin.
73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot aged in French oak barrels for 12 months in barrels used for one previous vintage.
Château Haut-Bages Averous is a property in Pauillac, acquired some time ago by André Cazes. For over 30 years, it was Lynch-Bages’ second wine. In 2008, a new identity was given to the second wine, under the name “Echo de Lynch-Bages”.
Echo de Lynch-Bages displays savoury aromas of fresh red fruits. Round, mellow and seductive in its youth, its ability to age is outstanding.
Aromas of currants and fresh herbs. Medium to full body, a soft and juicy texture and a long finish. Juicy yet tight. Excellent second wine.
