Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Serpentières opens up on the nose with aromas of cherry, raspberry and nutmeg. In the mouth, it is distinguished by its sappy and silky character. It offers a fleshy, smooth and fresh texture with a perfect balance.
Enjoy with blanquette of veal with oyster mushrooms, paupiettes of veal with prunes, aubergine lasagne, Morbier or Laguiole cheeses…
Located in Savigny-les-Beaune, this climat* Les Serpentières is located under Roichottes and enjoys a very good south-facing exposure. It was formerly called "Les serpentines" after the name of a species of snake that could often be seen in the summer on the hot and stony Burgundy lands.
100% Pinot Noir sourced from 45 to 50 year-old vines. This Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Serpentières, is designed to be kept for many years, it is aged 15 months in 30% new wood casks (228L Burgundian tuns).
This too is attractively fresh with its slightly cooler array of pretty red currant, plum and notably more spice-inflected aromas. There is a bit less mid-palate density to the nicely detailed and more refined middle weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the mildly austere and sneaky long finale. Drink: 2026+
