Deep crimson, The Domaine de Courcel Pommard Les Vaumuriens displays ripe scents of spices and wild cherries. Maturity and richness of fruit in a dense wine typical of Pommard.
The vineyard of Vaumuriens (1,43 ha) is ideally located on the hill on top of les Rugiens. The marlstone soil provides a very elegant style of Pommard with rich structure and scents of wild cherries.
Domaine de Courcel, located in Pommard, is one of Burgundy grandest estates, having been in the ownership of the de Courcel family since its foundation 400 years ago. The Domaine has developed a unique know-how, combining both traditional and modern methods for the vineyard, the wine making and maturing (“élevage”). The techniques used respect both the “terroirs” and the environment. The estate is skillfully and traditionally managed: Organic and vegan, low yield, hand picking harvest at full maturation with vinification in wooden vats with whole bunches to enhance the freshness of the fruit. Aged in oak casks 22 months before bottling, allowing added layer of texture to the wines.
