Typical supple red fruit to lead the show, and this pinot noir balances clean, sweet spices with a suave, mouth-filling texture that is uncommonly dense for a Chorey. Its acidity is fresh and pert without being intrusive.
The Cornu family have been winemakers in the northern Cotes du Beaune since 1870. The winemaking is traditional and unfussy. Their full attention is on guaranteeing that the wines in the bottle best reflect their respective terroir and vintage. They own just five acres in the Chorey les Beaune vineyard Les Bons Ormes whose vines average 40 years. The wine is concentrated yet generous in the way wines of Chorey oftentimes are: supple fruit and spice.Soils composed of clay, gravel and limestone provide complexity while zippy acidity gives focus.Open a bottle and your guests will be smiling.
