Henry's Drive Shiraz Mclaren Vale Description
The 2020 Henry’s Drive Shiraz has a beautiful bouquet of violets and mulberries. The palate is bright, with flavors of blackberries, plum and dark chocolate. The wine flows easily across the palate with fine, firm tannins drawing out the finish.
This wine is ideally served at room temperature with pork and fennel sausage or a hearty beef dish.
The Shiraz was sourced from four different blocks in McLaren Vale, from the Wilunga Hills in the south to Clarendon in the north and two blocks in the heart of the Vale.
Matured for 19 months in French puncheons and hogsheads, of which 15% was new and the balance twoto-five years old. The lion’s share of the blend came from the three southern blocks with the addition of 8.5% from the highest altitude Clarendon block, giving the wine lift and subtle complexity. This wine was drawn off as the base of the Henry’s Drive Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon Blend.
