The Negro Giuseppe Barbaresco PianCavallo appears a garnet red color in the glass. The nose is intense, with hints of blackberries, liquorice and spices. On the palate, the wine is dry, rich and full bodied with harmonious tannins.
The wine can accompany the entire meal, including meats, roasts, game and cheese. Very suitable for longer aging.
100% Nebbiolo aged for around 20 months in 500 litre oak casks and around 10 months in the bottle.
Giuseppe Negro’s winery is located in the municipal district of Neive, one of the most renowned areas for the production of the typical local wines “Vini Albesi”.
This wine is a roller coaster ride for your senses. Hard cherry candy, drying bay leaf, black tea, roasted orange peel, and 5 spice rush out of the glass. Firm, taut tannins providing the structure for tart cranberries, juicy raspberries, and sun-dried strawberries to twist and turn on the palate veering from fresh and tart to jammy and rich. The acidity lifts the finish like a high-wire act, leaving you with balanced sweet and savory spices on the lingering finish. Drink 2025 - 2040 Cellar Selection -J.P.
