On the palate, big, dry, tannic (that's because of the skins) with a sourness that some people liken to beer, aromas of orange peel, hazelnut and sourdough. A robust wine, you can pair it with almost anything, especially strong, spicy flavours.
Active in Chilean agriculture, grape growing, and winemaking since 1740, the Echeverria family established their current vineyards and winery in 1923 on the outskirts of Molina, a town in the Curicó Valley. Here, they cultivate grapes from French pre-phylloxera rootstocks across their 80 hectares of vineyards. Originally focused on bulk wine production, the winery shifted in 1990 to producing high-quality wines for export.
In the following years, Echeverria became one of the few boutique wineries to emerge from Chile and the first family-owned Chilean winery to sell wine at Harrods in London. Their No Es Pituko line features "nothing added" wines—wild-fermented, free of additives, including sulfites, and bottled unfiltered and unfined.
