A dark red wine that has scents of fresh Raspberry and Plum. A medium bodied mouthfeel with a distinctive minerality, enhanced baking spices to compliment the fruit forward notes of Cherry and Blueberry Flavors.
These grapes were grown from the southern end of the Willamette Valley in the South Eugene Hills. South Facing slopes, dry farming, and moderate yields made for concentrated ripe grapes. There they were destemmed only, (Not Crushed) to maintain as much whole berries as possible. Upon completion on fermentation the must was pressed out, settled, and clean racked to select French Oak Barrels where MLF had started. The cellared wine remained in barrel for only a short 5 months to preserve the fruit forward style prior to blending, stabilizing, and bottling.
This is one light, easy sipping Pinot Noir that is filled with fruit like a jelly doughnut. Oregon Grove's raspberry and talc aromas are encircled by caramel, followed by flavors of bright red cherries, dark chocolate and baking spices. The wine's mouthfeel is light and creamy, with restrained acidity and plush tannins. -M.A.
