The layers of dense dark red fruits and interwoven with subtle toasted oak that constantly evolves as you put your nose in the glass. The wine is very dense and delicious with lots of dark red fruits and spice.

Rutherford Hill Merlot benefits from three decades of Napa Valley history with this perennial favorite, offering an elegant and refined interpretation of the classic Bordeaux varietal. Estate vineyards that we purchased and developed in the 90's provided over 70% of the grapes in this wine. The Merlot lots were woven together with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Syrah with superb results.

100% Merlot matured in barrel, 14 months in New French Oak.

Rutherford Hill's 2022 Merlot boasts appealing scents of black cherries and blackberries, plus a hint of dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, round, soft and easy to drink, it's a plush, fruit-forward offering that seems a bit more concentrated than recent past vintages. The price makes it a relative bargain.
