Naked refers to the simple beauty of this Chardonnay. The fruit and oak characteristics are balanced to perfection leaving your palate longing for the next sip well after your first sip.
Upon harvesting, the grapes were gently pressed and the juice was cold settled. After racking off the solids, the juice was inoculated with BRG Yeast and allowed to ferment slowly for approximately 30 days, until dryness. At that point, the juice was chilled to halt the fermentation and stabilize the wine.
While this Chardonnay might be "naked" in oak barrels, it did see partial malolactic fermentation and packs some weight. The aromas are a mix of butter and toasted almonds, with a touch of apple. Modest acidity and a creamy texture complement the wine's lemon, dill, butter and Tahitian vanilla flavors. -M.A.
