Sax's Zwillingslauser Grüner Veltliner is comprised of grapes sourced from the vineyard that was planted the day the brothers were born. It pours a light green with yellow reflections, emitting a dazzling bouquet of white orchard fruit, candied orange and a touch of white pepper. The palate is medium to full-bodied with flavors of stone fruit and pears complemented by a delicate creaminess mid-palate. A delightful acidity balances the wine and it carries through to a deliciously refreshing finish. Pair with pan-fried fish or veal scallopini.
The Sax family has been dedicated to viticulture since 1660 when wineries were run as mixed agriculture. At its inception, the family winery was based in Lengenfeld with 1.5 hectares under vine. In the mid-1950's, the estate was relocated to Langenlois where the vineyards have continuously expanded to its present size of 30 hectares. Up until 2008, the property was run by the husband and wife team of Rudolf and Ernestine Sax. It was then that their twin sons, Rudolf Jr. and Michael took the reins of the estate, in both the vineyards and the cellar.
