Partially dried grapes produce a ruby-red, wonderfully soft, gentle, round, and slightly spicy red wine. The eight-month aging in barriques gives it its typical vanilla note – very finely integrated. Soft tannins round out the wine, making it an excellent accompaniment to aged cheeses, grilled and braised meats, or game dishes.
55 year old alberello vines, clay and calcareous soil. Harvested in late September, 2 weeks of extra ripening on the vines. Fermented in concrete vats, with native yeasts, matured for 8 months in used tonneaux.
