The Red Schooner Voyage 12 opens with alluring scents of plum and sweet leather define the nose. Additional notes of chocolate graced with sea salt. The palate is ripe and balanced with perfect natural acidity – both lush and fresh. Grippy tannins engage in a tug of war with this wine’s fruit.
Enjoy with penne with spicy Italian sausage, creamy risotto and food cooked over an open fire in the style of Argentine asado.
Grapes are grown in the Andes Mountains in Mendoza, Argentina – the highest 20% elevation of the Uco Valley. Rocky, welldrained soils create struggle for the vines, translating to richer flavor.
Once harvested, fruit is chilled and transported by ocean voyage to Caymus. Aged approximately 14 months in French oak.
As a “Red Wine of the World,” this Malbec bears the Caymus thumbprint – rich and supple, with luxurious fruit and soft tannins.
