A reflection of a great Médoc, its roundness rests on the black Merlot. Its complex structure is the fruit of Cabernet Sauvignon, accompanied by the freshness of Petit Verdot.
This estuarine wind that pushes us towards this land where we come once - to see - and where we always return, carried by the richness of spirit of its inhabitants...NOAILLAC...49 hectares of land swept by this strong lineage, blown by the southern wind...
Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Merlot noir (55%) and Petit Verdot (5%) open the doors to a house where one enters on hushed steps, without making a sound.
The Pagès family – Marc, Xavier, Damien – or the richness of an enlightened mind in a glass of Noaillac wine....
Quality is developed from the beginning of the vine's vegetative cycle, at pruning time when limiting the grape load is paramount; quantity is then set aside in favor of quality.
After fermentation and blending, the wine is put into barrels following a rigorous selection of different French oak coopers to allow the wines to age under optimal conditions.
The 2016 Noaillac is evolving beautifully, and consumers who purchased this wine for a pittance must be pleased. Exhibiting aromas of sweet cassis, licorice, loamy soil, mint and tobacco leaf, it's medium-bodied, supple and lively, with a succulent core of fruit, powdery tannins and a vibrant finish. Anticipated Maturity: 2022-2036
This 113-acre estate has been owned for three generations by the Pagès family. Rich tannins contrast with the spicy, toasty flavor that will soften into the ripe black-currant fruits. Drink this wine from 2022. -R.V.
