Rich bouquet of soft alcohol, dried figs and raisins, nuts, soft spices, white fruit with brandy, and angelica root.

Macvin is a traditional apéritif in Jura. Pairs pleasantly well with blue cheese and lukewarm dessert such as Crème brûlée, Tatin tart, chocolate fondant, pear with chocolate sauce, pudding, caramelized apple, Apfelstrudel.

Blend of 1/3 very old marc, 1/3 Chardonnay must and 1/3 Savagnin must. Aged for 3 years in oak barrels.

Once again, I tasted the NV Macvin du Jura Blanc, which is produced with something like a solera of the spirit blended with grape juice. There are citrus aromas and notes of cinnamon that reminded me of apple pie in a very intense nose and palate. This is 17% alcohol, and it's full-bodied and not that sweet, too intense for an aperitif, perfect as a dessert.
