The Coppola Director's Cut Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County opens with aromas of cocoa, baking spices, toasted oak, and wild berries. The palate reveals flavors of mocha, Toffee, blackberry jam, and baking spices.
80.4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6.13% Merlot, 5.16% Malbec, 8.28% other red wines, 100% barrel aged for a minimum of 14 months in 45% New Oak (35% French and 10% American Oak).
Sonoma County is one of only a few appellations in the world that oers a diverse range of climate where both cool climate varietals such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and warm weather varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot can thrive.
Named after the version of a film which most reflects the director’s vision, Director’s Cut wines represent our winemaker’s vision of varietal wines, which express true appellation character.
In the film business, the “Director’s Cut” emerged as a means for filmmakers to present their own creative vision of a story. At Francis Ford Coppola Winery, Director’s Cut wines were created as a way for our winemakers to craft wines that would reflect their own unique interpretation of the quintessential Sonoma wine.
