Expressively herbal and spicy with notes of chervil, tarragon, lemon balm, marjoram, bay leaf, citrus fruits and mineral accents.  Herbal-spicy, gently oily with ethereal phenolics, polished fruit and a smoky finish.  Deep minerality, salty and cool, balanced ripeness with a long curved acidity curve.

A high-altitude lieu-dit, that is a continuation of Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes.  Fermented and aged in 50% barrique (12% new), 50% in large older foudre.  Finished in stainless steel for 6 months before bottling.

Air, ripe and pretty aromas of petrol, various white orchard fruit and discreet spice wisps are complemented by the succulent and caressing, even juicy, and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors that deliver good if not special length on the ever-so-mildly sweet final.
