The Matrot Meursault offers white-fleshed fruit aromas, with a bold attack on the palate and a round finish. Best tasted young. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to charcuterie, chicken, and grilled fish. A great wine to enjoy with friends.
Fermentation for 8-10 weeks in oak barrels, 15-20% new followed by maturation on the lees for 11 months.
A slightly riper and more complex nose features notes of hazelnut, acacia blossom, lemon zest and various white orchard fruit. The caressing but nicely punchy medium-bodied flavors display the same fine complexity as the nose on the firm, balanced and refreshingly dry finale. This is a lovely Meursault villages and worth a look. Outstanding Drink: 2028+
