With its dazzling juice, this Chassagne traps the nose in a vegetal, sap scented swirl. Its broad structure imposes its volume on the palate. The wine reflects a loving soil, that sticks to the vigneron’s boots as well as the wine lover’s tongue. A first-rate village wine.
100% Barrel fermentation (30% new oak barrels / 70% barrels aged 1 and up to 5 years). Maturing will be on fine lees for minimum 12 months in barrel and after 4 months in tank.
A background hints of exoticism is present on the aromas of rosemary oil and petrol. The rich, succulent and opulent middleweight flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract that also buffers the moderately firm acid spine shaping the mildly rustic if lengthy finish. This offers better volume if less minerality than the Dents de Chien and overall, this is a fine villages as the presence of the 1er juice is evident. Outstanding Drink: 2028+
