100% Pinot Noir sourced from 0.167 ha (0.413 ac) planted in 1919.
100% de-stemmed, 10-day cold maceration, 10-20-day ambient yeast fermentation in tank with no added SO2. Aged 15-18 months in barrels (67% new). No fining, no filtration, SO2 added after malolactic fermentation (20-25 ppm free, 40-50 ppm total).
A relatively high-toned and super-fresh nose freely reveals exuberantly spicy notes of red currant, pomegranate, anise, rose petal, exotic tea, violet and lavender. The lilting yet impressively intense medium weight flavors are also not especially dense but do deliver stunningly good depth and persistence on the overtly austere, balanced and sleek finale. This silky effort is exceptionally classic and a wine that should also age effortlessly. Don't Miss! Drink: 2038+
