With an intense and vibrant cherry color, this natural wine appears slightly cloudy due to it’s lack of processing. On the nose, it has lively aromas of black cherry and fresh plum. The palate is fresh and persistent, silky with soft tannins and has a lush floral flavor that combines with raspberry fruit.
The vineyards at Viña Echeverría are located in the Curicó Valley and the rows are planted in an east-westerly direction to potentiate the sun’s exposure. We work with a model of micro viticulture, which means that each plot, no more than half a hectare, is identified according to its terroir and microclimate and planted, pruned, irrigated and harvested accordingly, resulting in grapes of optimum quality and flavor.
100% Cabernet Franc from ungrafted selected clones of pre-phylloxera French rootstock. Fermentation with natural yeast in stainless steel tanks between 13 and 17° C for 25 days. Soft pump over during fermentation to promote aromas and color. Natural malolactic fermentation. No stabilization process, no filtration. No added sulfites. Stored with its own less in stainless steel tanks prior to bottling.
I tend to prefer the whites to the reds that label themselves as "natural," but I found the 2022 No es Pituko Cabernet Franc quite clean and palatable, even if too light to show any varietal character or special attributes. Bottled unoaked after a few months with lees, it's simple and straightforward with shy aromas and flavors, easy to drink. 105,000 bottles produced. Anticipated Maturity: 2023-2025
