The Iolei Cannonau di Sardegna appears a ruby red color with violet reflections in the glass. On the nose, cherry, pomegranate juice, fresh laurel, myrtle berries, and cloves notes immediately emerge, with a persistent hint of pepper on the finish, giving the wine a pleasant spiciness. Upon entry, the wine presents good acidity. In the mid-palate, it is very enveloping and balanced, with a tannic character, overall well-balanced. The fruity and spicy notes reappear to complete the sensations perceived on the nose.
Excellent as an aperitif, also to be paired with appetizers or first courses.
