A ruby red color with violet hues. On the nose, fragrant aromas of wild berries and herbaceous notes of violet. So and silky body with sweet tannins and balanced structure. A perfect wine to pair with salumi and roasted red meats.
The Merlot comes from the "Ferrovia" vineyard, which grows on clay-rich soils not dissimilar to those found within Bordeaux. The hand-harvested fruit is de-stemmed and pressed, the grapes ferment in small oak barrels, and in stainless steel tanks. During this phase, the winery conducts several manual punch-downs of the cap per day in order to obtain a maximum extraction of color and sweet tannins. Half of the wine is aged in oak barrels and half in stainless steel tanks for approximately one year, then bottle-aged for an additional 6 months before release.
