Attractive dark red, slightly garnet color followed by abundant varietal aromas and flavors of blueberries, blackberry, and dark plums. The French oak aging contributes aromas of maple, cocoa dust and slight toast. The mouth feel is medium dense and juicy, with balanced acidy and very soft and ripe tannins. Although drinkable now, this wine will continue to improve for 5-7 years for those who have the patience.

Trentadue Description

The 2023 Vintage was one of the coolest and latest vintages I’ve seen in the last two decades. The rain was much needed and with more than 55 inches was double than normal and helped replenish the reservoirs and nourish the vines. In February the temperatures dropped below freezing and we had snow on the valley floor! The precipitation also brought extra canopy growth and led to 5% to 15% higher yields for most varieties. Our viticulture team was diligent in thinning and doing crop adjustments where necessary. This was key to achieving a balanced crop and promoting ripening in a very late year. Overall, the entire season was late from bud break through verasion and finally ripening and harvest. As a result of the long and slow ripening the 2023 vintage wines are deeply flavorful, beautifully colored, dense and concentrated with moderate alcohol. The tannin, structure and acidity of these wines resembles some of the best European vintages. The 2023 vintage will be most likely one of the most memorable and age-worthy we had in a long time.

The 2023 Vintage of La Storia Cab has two new blocks included in the blend-the familyowned blocks that were a long-term lees to Francis Coppola Winery. The grapes for our 2023 Cabernet were harvested between October 10th and October 26th, about 20 days later than average. After destemming and cold soaking for 3 days the grapes were fermented using native and “designer “yeast for an average of 10 days. Post fermentation all three lots were put through extended maceration for an average of 35 days. The wine was aged for 18 months in 19% new and 15% one year old French Oak barrels and the rest in neutral oak barrels. Our 2023
