Borsao Cabriola is a barrel-aged red wine crafted from the syrah, garnacha, and mazuela grape varieties in the DO. Campo de Borja (Zaragoza) by Borsao.
Born from the union of the three cooperatives of D.O. Campo de Borja, Borsao is a venture located in the town of Borja (Zaragoza). This region, known as "The Empire of garnacha," boasts an extensive range of excellent wines that bring recognition and visibility to this small Aragonese denomination, whose logo depicts a rider galloping through the town of Borsao (the ancient name for Borja).
Borsao Cabriola originates from old vines aged between 20 and 60 years, thriving under the influence of the Moncayo massif and cultivated using traditional methods. Harvesting is done by hand when the grapes reach their optimal ripeness.
In the winery, Borsao Cabriola undergoes a controlled maceration for 20-25 days. It then begins fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25-30°C. Finally, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months.
The name of this wine is inspired by the cabriola, an acrobatic movement performed by a horse, kicking out while airborne. It is an exercise requiring perfect balance, much like the red wine Borsao Cabriola; power and freshness in harmony.
The dark roasted spices and hints of cocoa powder are nicely woven to the deep aromas of dark cherries and dried plums. It is juicy and pretty sleek on a medium-bodied palate with creamy but present tannins and a long, bright finish.
Dark violet-red in the glass, this wine has lively aromas of cherry, rose petal and fennel seed. A beautiful floral note permeates the palate alongside flavors of blackberry preserves, blueberry, milk chocolate and clove that are wrapped in a layer of velvety tannins. Best buy
